What Are Exosomes?

 

Stem cells frequently interact with exosomes to regenerate tissue and heal the body from injury. Studies have shown that exposing older cells to young exosomes that are equipped with information from stem cells helps reprogram the older cells in a way that facilitates healing.

Exosome therapy incorporates these vital intracellular messengers to rejuvenate aging tissue. During an exosome therapy procedure, exosomes prepared from placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cells in a lab are injected into the body to regenerate cells and accelerate healing. Different Than Stem Cells

Regularly mistaken for Stem Cells, which are cells that can transform into any cell type in the body, exosomes are the organic cellular particles that are created to move data between cells. Think of exosomes as the “vehicle” of some of the most important information in the body. Stem cells, on the other hand, are the entire blank cell that is made up of exosome cells.

How do exosomes work?

Exosomes are tiny vesicles located on the surface of stem cells. They function as specialized messengers that carry important biochemicals such as proteins, RNA, and most promisingly, mRNA, which is responsible for manufacturing proteins. These biochemicals play a crucial role in repairing damaged cells in the penis by stimulating other cells to produce proteins. The small size and flexibility of exosomes enable them to travel through the bloodstream, carrying multiple doses of platelets and proteins to the penile tissue. They can even cross barriers that whole cells have trouble crossing, making them a highly effective delivery system.

 

They are also much more effective than stem cells because:

  • injecting only exosome vesicles and none of the cell DNA allows us to avoid the potential risk posed by stem cells
